AT&T’s challenge was to implement a mobile content services solution that simplified and aligned platform and content provider objectives while improving the end user experience and increasing margins. AT&T wanted to build a scalable technology platform capable of supporting hundreds of millions of transactions and unify platform capabilities in advance of their merger with AT&T.

Solution

Motricity’s integrated Fuel technology provided a solution that allowed AT&T to focus its efforts on driving new content to its site, delivering increasing subscriber value. Fuel enables AT&T to more efficiently source, market and deliver a rich suite of mobile content on the AT&T MEdia Mall to its 55+ million subscribers, while reducing costs and increasing data revenues.

Fuel hosts and supports both the Web and WAP MEdia Mall Storefronts, managing 40,000+ content items from global content providers and increasing AT&T’s control over content acquisition and delivery. In addition to providing full-content lifecycle technology, Fuel’s unified merchandising and marketing capabilities allow AT&T to offer a consistent and personalized end user experience thus increasing subscriber loyalty and reducing churn.

Benefits

AT&T saw an immediate increase in activity and purchases within days of the launch of the Fuel supported MEdia Mall Storefronts. Sales for AT&T mobile games were 25% higher the day after the Fuel launch as compared to other similar time periods, with AT&T realizing the highest games revenue in its history. Powered by Fuel, AT&T was able to surpass a million dollar per day sales mark for the first time ever.
